proceeding apace with doable things
Mar. 8th, 2024 10:01 amTempeh starter seems to be a working. I think that the mycelium is growing out just fine. The picture above is at 24 hours and there is a good bit of “fuzzy” going on and there is “blackness” going on here and there in the rice bed. Over all, things appear to be working just dandy. You can’t see it very well, but there is the blackness of spores up there in the upper right.
I am sorry to be boring y’all with this, but I feel that this is one of the few things that I can do right now that is actually going to help in the future. Granted, I am walking to get healthy after being caged during the winter which is important, but the care and feeding of tempeh and the movement toward a low-cost and healthy diet is a major piece of work and takes time.
Been thinking back to my salad years of the early seventies. Nixon and the Yom Kippur war and the 1973 gas crisis and the retreat from Vietnam. These were not fun times. I am helplessly hoping that this isn’t one of the times that history rhymes. I couldn’t do anything about the antics of the literati then, I sure don’t have the ability to do anything about the whole situation other than to survive.
