If I have already posted this, deal with it. I didn’t want to go back and check
I spent a large portion of my adult life measuring things. I suppose that I make a certain fetish of it, but it hasn’t done me any harm as what I have been interested in measuring usually has a physical component that I measure (length, width, quantity, time interval, etc, etc) It is an enjoyable way to spend one’s working day and I am not ashamed.
I am going to spend some time looking at atmospheric CO2 in the next while. I am doing this because I read “Naked Capitalism” every day for the commentary on current events. While I heartily and without reservation can recommend that you take the time to read them, I must insert a caveat.
As a group, they are of the pearl-clutching and self-absorbed New York rich liberals sect of American culture. I like hanging out with this kind of folk simply because they are so smart and so well read. But as a group they tend toward being hypochondriacs and fretful about the whole mortality thing.
So, not much to say other than I’m going to spend the day doing some reading on CO2 and trying to get my head around an idea that I just took as a given. I think right now that folks are shrieking and reacting by just listening to whatever pet “experts” are writing instead of going to the source and thinking for themselves. I don’t want to be accused of that.
