The world doesn’t seem to be going the way that most folks want it to be going.  But the world goes the way the world will.  You don’t really have that big a say in the matter.  

I think that this simple fact is what has always pissed off curmudgeonly old men such as your humble correspondent.  Truth be told, when you hit “senior citizen” you kinda have a right to be a little annoyed by the antics of the world.  After all, you have spent the last fifty-some-odd years of your life finally understanding the simple fact that the world holds no special regard for your plans.

While saying this awkward fact out loud, I come to realize that over-doing the old curmudgeon is really the same damn thing as teenage angst, which is one of the most annoying traits that I can think of.  So again, I have to spend a little time talking myself down from my current high dudgeon and get back to the safe and tolerable state of not having a fuck to give.  

In a way, I suppose that one can consider this a form of meditation.
