Sunday AM…Gonna head over with the young men and eat Mexican Breakfast, looking forward to it.  

Spent a little time yesterday cleaning and straightening, one of the truly pleasant things about the oversized dorm room that I call home is that this kind of thing takes so little time and the effects show up really fast.  Feelings of accomplishment that are easy to come by are not to be sneered upon.  

Three day weekend this weekend.  Put laundry off for a day and will do it tomorrow morning.

I have been watching the Biden Administration fumble around with Russia.  It is a truly strange thing to watch.  I am thinking that we are looking kinda silly.  

I don’t think that Russia is acting in anything other than its own self interest.  Their self interest doesn’t align with what the folks in Washington think that it should be.  This is problematic. Washington seems to think that other countries should bend the knee and submit.  There are a couple of countries out there that really aren’t temperamentally suited to bending the knee.  Russia has never, ever been good at it, and China played the game long enough to let us give them the keys to the car (they didn’t steal things, we gave them the technologies and money to make them a peer).

So we are kind of at an impasse and the last forty years has given us a sequence of leaderships that makes me skeptical of the idea that they can see beyond their self-generated narratives and deliberate ignorance of their opponents to be able to find a way out of the mess in which we have so lovingly and laboriously immersed ourselves.

I genuinely am praying that Biden (the draft dodging coward**) will remain true to form and back down.  But the joker in this game, as in all other things, is he really in charge?

**  Now don’t think for a minute that he is the only one who fits this bill.  Other than Pappy Bush (who had big brass ones, anybody who had a plane shot out from under them by the Japanese, qualifies as anything other than a draft dodger.  Well, maybe Obama because I think he was too young) none of the presidents since 1980 served.
